As part of my involvement with the Denton Maker Center (and as an Adult Fan Of LEGO), I got very interested in using LEGO to create unique handmade graphics through printmaking. The technique is also known as the "Hilversum method". The method is named after the city of Hilversum in the Netherlands, where the artists who developed it in 2013, Roy Scholten and Martijn van der Blom, have their studios. Given my interest in developing and using playful fonts, I decided to create my own version of a LEGOfont. Initially, I started using it in the monthly calendars for the Denton Maker Center. I love the aesthetic of it and its slight handmade imperfections. Here's a short video I made about the whole process:
