LEGOfont

As part of my involvement with the Denton Maker Center, I took a tremendously fun and inspiring workshop taught by Alex Epps, LEGO letterpress. This is a printmaking technique that uses LEGO bricks to create letters and images. The technique is also known as the "Hilversum method". The method is named after the city of Hilversum in the Netherlands, where the artists who developed it in 2013, Roy Scholten and Martijn van der Blom, have their studios. Given my interest in developing and using playful fonts, I decided to create my own version of a LEGOfont. Initially, I started using it in the monthly calendars for the Denton Maker Center. I love the aesthetic of it and its slight handmade imperfections.
